Children Playing Tug of War

Week 1: June 23 – June 27

In Week 1, campers dive into the fascinating world of science with hands-on experiments and exploration. By the end of the week, campers will reflect on their science experiments and share their discoveries through a showcase.

Day in the Life of a Mad Scientist !

🧪 A Day in the Life of You, the Mad Scientist!

(Narration for Mad Science Week at Camp)

You burst through the laboratory doors right at 9:00 AM, your imaginary lab coat flapping behind you. Today, you are no ordinary camper — you are a Mad Scientist Extraordinaire! You check in, greet your fellow scientists with your best mysterious grin, and share your wild idea for the day.
"Today," you declare, "I will invent something the world has NEVER seen!"

You grab your flashlight for a quick warm-up game, practicing laser-sharp focus, because every great scientist needs a steady hand and a sharp mind.

At 9:30 AM, it’s time to get serious (well, mad scientist serious). You gather your supplies: marbles, dominoes, ramps, string — and start building a Rube Goldberg machine. You sketch, you plan, you explain your idea to your team. Will the marble hit the lever? Will the toy car trigger the balloon pop? Only time — and a few hilarious mistakes — will tell!

After all that invention, your stomach growls. At 10:30 AM, you head to the Mad Science Café (okay, the snack table) to grab a quick bite and stretch your fingers and toes. You play with fidget toys and imagine your next great invention.

By 10:45 AM, you're back at the workbench. It's time to race! You design a balloon-powered car, testing different balloon sizes and car designs. You huff, you puff, and WHOOSH — your car zooms across the lab floor, bumping into another scientist’s chair. Oops! More improvements needed. Back to the drawing board!

11:45 AM rolls around, and it’s time for the best kind of break — Lunch Lab! You sit with your fellow scientists, swapping stories about exploding soda volcanoes and rockets gone wrong (and right). You laugh, you share, you learn.

After lunch, at 12:15 PM, the Secret Chemistry Lab opens! You mix mysterious ingredients to create invisible ink, scribbling secret messages for your friends to decode. You carefully grow sparkling crystals, checking every few minutes to see if magic (or science!) is happening yet.

At 1:15 PM, you pull out your Mad Scientist Journal. You list your experiments, sketch improvements for tomorrow’s inventions, and practice your best "serious scientist" thinking face. Planning, organizing — it’s part of the magic too.

By 2:00 PM, your brain feels FULL... so it's time to move! You dash outside for a Mad Movement Break — running relay races, chasing atoms, and pretending to blast off like a human rocket. You feel free, energized, and ready for one more adventure.

Finally, at 2:30 PM, you gather around with the other scientists for Reflection and Free Play. You proudly show off your inventions, laugh about your most epic flops, and dream up your next big experiments. Maybe tomorrow you’ll invent a flying backpack? Or a robot dog? Or a snack machine that never runs out?

As the laboratory closes, you hang up your lab coat and smile.
Today, you were a Mad Scientist — bold, curious, and unstoppable.
And tomorrow? Who knows what you’ll discover next!
