🧱 A Day in the Life of a Lego Engineer at Camp
The sun was just beginning to peek through the windows as the Lego Engineers arrived at camp, backpacks bouncing and imaginations buzzing.
At Morning Meeting, the engineers practiced their greetings, shaking hands and introducing themselves like real professionals. They stretched their fingers — the most important tools for building — and shared wild ideas for what they might create today. A flying castle? A city on the moon? Anything was possible.
When the clock struck 9:30, it was time to begin the day’s great challenge: the Free Build!
First, every engineer sketched out their design or explained it to a partner, using careful planning words like “first,” “next,” and “then.”
Blocks snapped together as buildings soared higher, cars zipped across tables, and dragons took shape. Every few minutes, campers paused to describe their masterpieces out loud, practicing rich, detailed speech.
After a quick snack break and some stretching, the engineers joined forces for a collaborative city build. Teams had to negotiate: Should the castle go next to the pirate ship? Where would the train tracks lead? They practiced listening carefully, compromising, and working together, piece by colorful piece.
Outside, during Outdoor Play, the engineers raced and laughed, giving each other high-fives and cheering on their teammates. Even their games had a building twist — creating obstacle courses with cones and hula hoops, imagining they were crossing Lego bridges and lava pits!
At lunchtime, the conversations continued.
"If you could live in any Lego world, what would it be?" asked one camper.
"A candy land!" another replied, giggling. They practiced asking questions and making connections, just like real friends and coworkers would do.
In the afternoon, it was time for Lego Storytelling.
One camper held up a spaceship, launching into a thrilling tale about astronauts on a quest for treasure. Another introduced the tiny dragon family that lived inside her glittery castle.
Each builder practiced speaking clearly, using their words to transport their friends into fantastical worlds.
As the day came to a close, the engineers circled up. Each shared one thing they were proud of — a tricky tower they balanced, a new friend they made, a funny story they told. They gave compliments, smiled big smiles, and set goals for tomorrow: maybe to build even higher, or to try working with someone new.
The Lego Engineers packed up their masterpieces (and a million ideas for tomorrow), ready to dream up even bigger adventures at camp.
The End... or rather, just the beginning. 🚀✨
